A Slight Misdirection

So as I’ve begun blogging about books on my other blog, I’ve paid a little more attention to the Google Analytics, and have notice that  some  people may have arrived here after searching common “laundry” terms.  My apologies; when I first started this blog it was not at all on my radar the thought of being found in a search engine for some one looking up how one might wash they’re new silk delicates (assuming you would wash silk?).  It does turn out I have a great name and title for a niche blog if I wanted to talk about stain removal, but as my iron serves a more “decorative” purpose, and most of my laundry loads are a rainbow of colors, you will find no useful laundry tips here.  My apologies for those misdirection's.

The only slightly maybe related topic you may find here is I plan to embark on learning how to sew.  I have not the first clue; well maybe a little clue, I can  thread a needle and sew a button (though probably not correctly).  I plan to start by making my daughters a “ticky- tacky” doll…pray for me, I’ll need all the help I can get.

Machine Wash Cold

so I found these two thoughts on washing clothes in cold water:
Set your water temperature to "cold" on your clothes washer. Unless your clothes have oil or grease stains, cold water is usually adequate to clean white and colored clothes. In fact, washing clothes in cold water allows fabrics to retain their color and strength longer.

Hot water tends to make some clothing shrink, wrinkle, and fade.

Cold water allows fabrics to retain their color and strength longer. Hot water will shrink, wrinkle , and fade clothing so in the washing machine of my life I'd prefer you follow the instructions on the tag; machine wash cold. I would much prefer to keep the vibrant colors I was given, as well as the strength, to continue to show them when someone forgets to follow the instructions and put me in the Hot cycle. Because we all know there is someone in every family that throws all the dirty clothes in one load regardless of color or regard to what the setting was last one. So sometimes clothes will shrink a bit, maybe slightly fade. But garments tend too over time. And if you take care you can protect your most favorite items. And hey there's always a warm or low iron to get the occasional wrinkle out.
